I miss Maui...the weather, the beach, the Mai Tais.
We're blessed with an orange tree in our backyard, and we always have canned pineapple juice on hand for Pina Coladas by the pool, so I decided I need to try my hand at making Mai Tais.
Mai Tai Recipe attempt #1:
Ingredients:
1 ounce Malibu coconut rum
1 ounce triple sec
2 ounces orange juice
2 ounces pineapple juice
2 ounces Captain Morgans spiced rum
ice
Method:
Fill a tall glass with ice. Mix the first 4 ingredients and pour over ice. Float the Captain Morgans on top.
It's good, but it's not quite as good as what I got in Maui. I may tweak my ingredients and try again. In the meantime...it is fruity and refreshing like a tropical vacation!
